Webinar: Rapid Diagnostic Testing of Positive Blood Cultures & Impact on Antimicrobial Stewardship
During the presentation, Dr. Brad Crane, Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee discussed the correlation between Rapid Diagnostic Testing (RDT) and Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs and the potential clinical and financial outcomes associated with RDT. Dr. Crane also reviewed the responsibilities between the microbiology lab and the pharmacy as well as the feasibility of implementing RDT in a non-teaching, community hospital setting.
